About Don Fox Film Director, Writer |
Don Fox, writer, producer, director, has been an innovator in 3D virtual roller coaster ride attractions for over 20 years creating dramatic, richly textured special format based films.
Fox’s projects have been seen by millions, stretching the imaginations of countless people both in the United States and abroad. His special attraction films have been featured at the MGM Grand and the Luxor in Las Vegas, Busch Gardens and Sea World Parks in Florida, Paramount Parks, Six Flags and other parks worldwide.
Fox is the recipient of multiple awards throughout his career, including the prestigious Themed Entertainment Association (Thea) Award honoring outstanding entertainment projects worldwide. The Thea Award recognizes achievements that demonstrate the power of creating compelling environments and experiences for guests and visitors. 
In the late 1980’s Fox opened the door of Midland Entertainment to produce theme park attraction rides. Midland changed direction in 2006 to focus on family-friendly feature films and programming.
In launching these new projects Fox drew on his childhood passion for making monster movies centered on teen heroes.
His most recent projects include Robots from Mars-3D Adventure a stereoscopic 3D attraction film currently distributed by nWave Pictures to theme park rides and 3D theaters throughout the world.
In development are The Golden Amulet and Following Darkness co-produced in association with the Malla Entertainment Group based in Los Angeles, California.
By developing properties that introduce their own worlds and can be easily spun-off into film series, Fox is creating long-term franchises for the teen and family market. On this note, Fox has written The Golden Amulet and Following Darkness as the first of these productions.
